A pal of mine often appears as a film extra, and yesterday he was working on
Tess of the d'Urbervilles, which was being filmed on the Bluebell Railway at
Horsted Keynes station.
The loco featured was the SECR O class with the two ex-Metropolitan
carriages.
I am sure the driver and fireman must have been bored, spending 10 hours
just running forward 100 yards, then reversing to do the same thing again.
And interspersed with long periods of standing around.
I understand that it is for the BBC, so will be worth watching for, even if
only to see how they modified the station etc.
Regarding the latter, I was somewhat surprised how much detail they went
into. For example, covering up and replacing lettering on signs, where the
existing lettering wasnt the right typeface for the period.
