I have finally got around to ringing 4QD using the number supplied by Kenny.
I did try towards the end of last week but it was afternoon and I got a
recorded message saying they only take phone calls between 9 am and midday.
My conversation today answered my question but it was a bit strained - just
as it was when I discussed a problem with them 9 years ago and they said
that it could not be a problem with their controller. I insisted on
returning it to them and they replaced the main capacitor which had failed.
I've since discovered that 4QD supply controllers to several of the "major"
loco suppliers (eg Maxitrak, Ride on Railways etc) so they must be pretty
good.
Just a shame about their bedside manner.
