Hi Andy
Can't help with the first two queries, but a good way to clean up a valve
port face is to attach a piece of fine carborundum paper to a flat metal
block with double sided tape. The face of the block needs to be about 2/3
of the area of the port face, it can then be moved around in an orbital
fashion to clean the face up. I used this method to take out the machining
marks on my 2" Burrell.
Regards
Ron

...... Finally the regulator leaks quite badly and the port face is a bit
rough and ready! Without taking the cylinder block of and mounting it on the
mill any suggestions how I can clean the regulator port face up so it seals?
