[modeleng] Re: 12ba Screws

Hi John,

> Barrie if you are having a problem getting a spanner or socket for your
12BA bolts perhaps there might be an alternative in the current A/F or
Metric range.

The problem is not with the spanner. The problem is that the hex heads are
too large. Almost the last job on my 5" King was to make and fit the pipe
covers to the top feeds, they are to be held on to the cladding with sixteen
12ba screws. The oversize screw heads do the job but, to my eyes, they just
look that bit too big. They are nearly 10% oversize A/F which means nearly
20% on area.
I know its all a bit fastidious but I'm trying hard not to let standards
drop just to get it finished. Besides which this cold weather makes it
impossible to paint so, more time to get the details right!
I am waiting a reply from Doug Hewson (good idea, Andy). He's pretty
fastidious too.

Thanks to all who have contributed to this.

Barrie
