Hello all.
I just had two Cackling Geese mixed in with a group of about 30 Canada Geese at
the inlet along the Natchez Trace that backs up to Northbay Subdivision and the
Simmons Arboretum. Notes on the birds are in the eBird report below. These are
the first two I've seen south of Arkabutla.
I had planned on doing Turcotte and Pipeline Road, but family medical duty
called.

Comments: Traveling along Natchez Trace and stopping to scope the birds each
stop along the way. Land birds are incidental, as seen or heard while stopped
to scope what was on the water.

2 Cackling Goose -- Two birds in with larger group of Canada Geese. These two
had obviously smaller and stubbier beaks, with overall body size appearing to
be only 2/3 - 3/4 the size of the adjoining Canada Geese, even given the size
differentiation in male and female Canada Geese.
