Let's try that again!
Okatibbee Creek chapter held our Christmas Bird Count January 2. Seven
teams of 15 participants scrounged through heavy downpours and tornado
warnings to find 76 species. Highlights were 2 Bald eagles, 2 Red-breasted
nuthatch and a 2nd count record of House wren. American white pelicans
were at the reservoir in twice the number of last year. Virtually no other
waterfowl. A count week Hermit thrush was added. No owls this year.

town. Your help was greatly appreciated.
I was able to bird some ponds in our circle over the weekend and came up
with greater numbers of Hooded mergansers, a few Red-breasted mergansers,
and Bonaparte gulls. Hopefully we'll be seeing more ducks soon.
Bad day birding beats any day at the office! Is there such a thing as a
bad day of birding? Get outside!
