I would call it an abandoned project.  The receiver was good but the
transmitter had a problem of the IF being transmitted.  I've been messing
with an IF crystal to "suck out" that offending frequency.  Unfortunately,
this wound up being a low priority with all the other things I've been
doing.  IIRC, there was also concern about spurs or IMD which was a bit
high too.  I don't know if (better) shielding on the CB would have helped,
but I remember discussion about changing the mixer.  If I get back to it, I
hope to get something working better.
