Causes of Colors
http://webexhibits.org/causesofcolor/

Ever wondered why the sky is blue, how rainbows are created, or what makes an
emerald green? This educational site examines the fifteen causes of color, the
idea of micro-consciousness, and the way in which color is taken in by our eyes
and impacts our experience of life.

The Causes of Color web exhibit is a journey into light, one of the simplest
and yet most profound elements of our world. Scroll the exhibit and learn
about how light is made, lost, and moved. There are also other features, such
as how the world looks through colorblind eyes, how animals see, and the
various color atlases.

KidsClick!
http://sunsite.berkeley.edu/KidsClick!/topcomp.html

It's often difficult to find sites that provide technical information for
children. One that we recently happened across provides information on a
children's level about
computers, programming, the Internet, video games, and much more.
You should make sure your kids check out the information on Internet safety.

Finally, there are some inline games that many children enjoy.

LucidLink
http://www.lucidlink.com/Product_Information/about_technology.asp
The free LucidLink Wireless Client and security software simplifies wireless
connectivity for home office and small business users. The setup is designed
for the technically challenged.

LucidLink communicates with your access points to authenticate the users
seeking connection to your wireless network. When you install LucidLink, the
software stores highly secure credentials for each user. As the access points
receive connection requests, LucidLink checks the user credentials against the
stored credentials. Unless users have the right credentials to prove their
identity, the access points will stop them from connecting. This means that
intruders cannot access the network, where they can do the most damage to your
internal systems.

Getting Rid of "Spam" ...and Other E-mail Pests
by Randy Cassingham
http://www.spamprimer.com/
The basics of spam, "phishing" and other e-mail pests, how they got your
address
in the first place -- and what to do now that you're inundated.

"Most wonder how such scammers got their e-mail address. It is actually pretty
easy for them: if your address is shown in any public place, spammers can and
will find it. They use software to scan web sites, chat postings and more for
any address they can find, and it's added to a list that spammers pass around.
Once you start getting spam, it's too late: you will continue to get it forever
until you get a new address that is not shown in any public place."

VB Doodle freeware
http://www.freewareweb.com/cgi-bin/archive.cgi?ID=1664

VB Doodle is one of those fun little programs. Use it to draw all
over your computer screen. Using the standard 16 Windows colors
and a special rainbow color, along with multiple brush sizes,
shapes, and options. You can also copy, save, or print your
masterpiece. This version includes some new features.

Highlighting Text

Trying to highlight a large section of text with your mouse (more than what's
currently
shown on the screen), But you zip right past the point where you want to stop?

The best way I know of is to lay off the mouse a little (they can get kinda
wild, you know). First, put your cursor at the point where you want to start
highlighting (selecting) the text.

OK, now (keep your hands off that mouse) hold down your SHIFT key and use your
up / down arrows. You'll find when you hold down an arrow that the text scrolls
(and highlights) by at a much more manageable rate.

Oh, if the section is really big, tap your Page Up and Page Down keys till you
get close to where you need to stop.

Don't Forget to Update Your AV After Holidays ~ Mike's Friday Tip

Now that summer is here and the long weekend are ahead there is a small task
that is often overlooked.

Don't forget to update your Anti Virus program before going on line or checking
your email.
Many time when we have been away from our computers the first thing we want to
do is check the mail. This action may expose us to the latest variation of
virus or other infections which may have developed during our absence.

A few minutes taken to check for updates may just prevent the latest nasty from
infecting your computer.

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.
