Enough Is Enough! freeware
https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/ehowes/www/resource6.htm
Have you just about had it with sneaky spyware installations, pesky third-party
cookies from pushy advertisers and marketers, and the unending blizzard of
popups and popunders from web sites? Haven't you really had just about enough
of these obnoxious, invasive practices that trash your computer and violate
your privacy?

Google to Double Gmail Storage
http://www.google.com/gmail/help/whatsnew.html
G is for growth
Storage is an important part of email, but that doesn't mean you should have to
worry about it. To celebrate our one-year birthday, we're giving everyone one
more gigabyte. But why stop the party there? Our plan is to continue growing
your storage beyond 2GBs by giving you more space as we are able. We know that
email will only become more important in people's lives, and we want Gmail to
keep up with our users and their needs. From Gmail, you can expect more.

AutoSizer 1.4
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/AutoSizer/1018739018/1
AutoSizer automatically resizes any window you specify. For instance, some web
browsers open up in a non-maximized window. You can set those windows to
automatically maximize every time they?re opened. It works with almost any
program, including web browsers, Notepad, etc. AutoSizer stays running in the
system tray, so it stays out of your way while it works.

  How far can you jump?
Jump like world-renowned daredevil "Kaptain" Robbie Knievel through a series of
daredevil jumps over flaming barrels, buses, and semis.

You can do tricks like wheelies and standing wheelies to earn bonus points.

TV Tickets
http://www.povonline.com/TVTickets.htm

With a few exceptions, tickets to see TV shows taped (or filmed or performed
live) are free. It was the same way in the days of radio, and some of the
ducats that appear on the following pages are from that era, as well. All of
them are interesting relics of broadcasting history, telling us much about the
shows, about the people who did them, and especially about the venues in which
they were created.

This site has many other interesting pages if you have time to spare start back
at the main page at
http://www.povonline.com/index.htm

Prevent Scandisk Restarts
Scan Disk will keep resetting if Windows is performing background tasks. Many
times you are not even aware that these are happening, nevertheless they are
there and can get in the way of a good scan.

There is a way to get around this: just as your computer starts to boot up
(before the Windows "splash screen" appears), keep hitting F8 on your keyboard.
A menu should come up.
Choose the SAFE MODE option then run Scan Disk following the normal procedure
and it should work just fine.

Windows 95/98/ME Users: Click on the Start Menu then select Programs,
Accessories, System Tools, then Scan Disk. Select the drive you would like to
check, then select the type of test you would like to run (standard or
thorough). Finally, click Start.

WindowsNT/2000/XP Users: Double click your My Computer icon.
Right click on the C: drive. Select Properties then choose the Tools tab. Under
Error Checking, click the Check Now button.
A dialog box will pop up, check both check boxes and click Start.

A dialog box will pop up telling you, "The disk check could not be performed
because exclusive access to the drive could not be obtained. Do you want this
disk check to be scheduled the next time you restart the computer?"

Boldly click the Yes button! P.S: While in Safe Mode, you may want to run
defragment as well.

DO YOU HAVE PARASITES?
http://aumha.org/a/noads.php
Screen for Adware, Spyware, Scumware, Diallers, ?Jackers and other unsolicited
commercial software

This page allows you to check your computer for a hundred different parasites.
Embedded is a script by Andrew Clover, made available from his web site at
doxdesk.com.

Please wait about 30 seconds for this script to execute.
You must be using Internet Explorer for this test to work. JavaScript must be
enabled.
To read excellent descriptions of each parasite screened for, go directly to
Andrew Clover?s parasite page.
New malware is being written and circulated all the time. This quick screen is
only the start of your ?screening and cleaning? process. For a more thorough
discussion of parasites and how to identify, remove, and protect against them,
see my page The Parasite Fight: Quick Fix Protocol.
If the script does not execute after 30 seconds (nothing appears between the
two rows of stars), there may be scumware present that is fighting with the
script. Click here to run the script from the AumHa web server ? if it still
hangs, presume there is scumware present on your computer that is arm-wrestling
with the script.

Zip files ~ Mike's Friday Tip

Zip files are also known as self extracting files.

When we download files from the internet they often contain compressed files
called zip or other self extracting file type.

You will want to save files like this to a folder of their own before
'extracting' or 'unzipping' to keep all the files together when they are
unzipped. Once you have them unzipped then you can follow normal
 installation procedures.

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.
