Kaspersky labs has additional servers for autoupdating.  The program
defaults to use one server but can be altered to check a variety of 
servers. Select Kaspersky updater, select update via the internet to 
open the drop down box(es) select "location"  Check the box labeled 
"Use alternate locations from the list"  select next and next to update.  
This option should stay selected after the first time.  This helps 
Kaspersky lighten the load for updates and helps you obtain updates 
easier.

Try to be aware of the games your child plays and the people he's playing

computer is in a child's room, it's easier to hide the screen and play
inappropriate games.

If you notice players saying things that you find inappropriate, simply
select their name from the players list and select mute. To report the
offender, select their name from the players list and choose the Feedback
option.

To report a violation on any online gaming site, you will usually need the
following information:

The violator's gamer tag, including any unusual spelling or punctuation. 
The date and time of the violation. 
A description of the violation?what happened and how many times it
occurred. 
An explanation of how you tried to stop the violation. 
The gamer tags of any witnesses. 

Talk to your kids
The safest way to play online games with your kids is to play with them.
Depending on their age, this may be the last thing they want to do. Still,
it's important to talk to them about the risks, and teach them how to handle
uncomfortable situations. Together, you can create a fun and safer
environment for your children online.

source (ie. the DVD drive) and the destination folder (by finding the drive
with the most free disk space).

Folder Consistency

Note: This tips works in Windows 98/Me/XP, but it may also work in other
versions of Windows with little alteration. 
Give it a try!

If you like the way a certain folder displays (for example, perhaps you have
it in List view and with Details showing) and you want all your folders to
appear this way, you can go into;
My Computer; choose View, Folder Options; click the View tab; and click the
Like Current Folder button.

  Mike's Friday Tip ~ Speed Up Your Old Computer
If you are running Windows XP on an older computer there is a setting you
can change to speed thing up.
Right click My Computer>Click on Properties> Advanced tab> 
Performance> Settings Choose "Adjust for best performance"
This will unselect all of the resource 'hogging' features. 
Click OK. 

You can customize the selection of programs/resources to enable or deselect
by clicking on "Custom".
