Conversion Calculator Freeware
http://www.awitness.org/software/convcalc/conversion_calculator.html
Using a calculator interface this program converts values between various
different systems of measurement. The program is a simple executable. Just
click the Calculator icon to run the program.
This version of the program is capable of automatically inserting a start up
link on the Windows pop-up Start Menu, the desktop, or the QuickLaunch
Toolbar. Choose the Help menu at the top of the program screen.
Version 3.0 includes close to 1200 conversions, and can be updated to
include even more conversions using either the Update
button or by editing a text file with Notepad, making the program
expandable. You can also display the conversion factor for any given
conversion by entering the number 1 into the calculator.
For example when converting from miles to kilometers, entering '1' for miles
and then converting to Kilometers reveals that the conversion factor is
'1.609344'...

Big Buttons
Do you ever accidentally click the Maximize button on a program window when
you meant to hit Close?
Or Close when you wanted to Maximize?
Or Maximize when you wanted to Minimize?
Or... OK, I guess you get the idea.
If the buttons are bigger, it helps to eliminate this problem.
Here's how to do it:
1. Right-click the desktop and select Properties.
2. Select the Appearance tab. (If you're using XP, hit the
Advanced button.)
3. On the "Item" drop down box, select Active Title Bar.
4. Next to that drop down box you'll see a setting for size.
Click the little up arrow to make the buttons bigger.
Don't get carried away though.
The bigger the buttons, the bigger the title bar.

Stickies free
http://www.btinternet.com/~tom.revell/index.html
Stickies is a PC utility I wrote to try to cut down on the number of
Post-It® notes I was leaving stuck to my monitor.
It is a computerised version of those notes.
The idea behind Stickies is that the program is small and simple.
Admittedly, over time it's grown in size as I've added features, but it
compiles to around 248k, which is pretty tiny by today's standards. Stickies
will not mess with your system files, or write to the registry.
Stickies stores all information in a single text-based ini file. The program
is written in Microsoft Visual C++.
Stickies will never support animated dancing figures, or play
"Greensleeves". They are instead yellow rectangular windows onto which
you can put some notes. Once created, they will stay on screen until you
take them away. Just like a real sticky piece of paper.
Main features:
Once on screen, stickies will remain where placed until closed, even through
reboots.
Stickies appearance can be customised; fonts, colours and buttons may be
changed, and styles saved. Stickies can be resized horizontally.
Languages other than English for the interface are also supported.
Stickies can be transferred from one machine to another either over a TCP/IP
network connection, or by using a SMTP mail server:
>Hierarchical friends list, which may be automatically transferred from
other friends
>WAV file play/PC speaker beep on receive
>Signature for transmitted or emailed stickies
>Favourite friends can be chosen
Stickies can be hidden (sent to sleep!) for a certain period, until a
specified date and time, or to wake every day, week or month, to act as
reminders International language support.
Save to file/Import from file, to transfer stickies by removable media
Stickies is small and simple, it writes to a single text file, and does not
touch the registry
...and Stickies is completely free!

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.
