Dackup and re-author DVD movies
DVD Shrink lets you create backup copies from any DVD. The files are saved
to your hard drive, from where you can use your DVD burning software to
create physical backup copies. The program allows you to re-author the DVD
content, you can cut sections and reduce the size of the files or eliminate
content that you do not want. In addition, it can reduce the overall size of
the DVD by using compression methods that will make the DVD fit on a
single-layer (4.7 gb) DVD, even if the original DVD was larger. DVD Shrink
comes with an easy to use interface that includes a preview of the selected
titles.

Saving Searches On Your Desktop
Do you frequently use the Windows Find feature to search for certain types
of files? If you repeatedly search for the same file types, you may find it
helpful to save your search criteria to your desktop. When you need to
perform the search again, you can simply double-click on the shortcut and,
with no additional input, your results will appear.
Let's say that you frequently search for DOC and TXT files. To do this,
you'd usually click the Start button, select Find, and then click the Files
Or Folders command. When the Find: All Files dialog box appears, key in the
criteria for your search. For our example, just type *.doc, *.txt in the
Named text box. When you're satisfied with your search criteria, click the
Find Now button, and the results appear at the bottom of the dialog box.
At this point, choose File | Save Search. This will create a shortcut on
your desktop named All Files.fnd (you can rename the file if you want). Now
when you double-click on the shortcut, Find automatically performs a new
search with the saved criteria.

Restore Desktop - freeware
http://www.softwarium.com/rdwin.html
Windows 98/Me/NT 4/2000/XP installed
A Windows Context Menu addition that automatically saves and restores the
icons' positions on the Windows desktop after a resolution change.
How many times you change screen resolution and discover that your neatly
placed icons have shattered all over the screen. No more! Restore Desktop
magically restores icons' positions after display resolution changing. You
can also restore saved icons' positions manually by control-click on the
desktop.
The utility is very small, works automatically and requires no training at
all. Just install it and forget about improperly placed icons on your
Desktop.
Thanks to; Bev

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.
