This option should stay selected after the first time.  This helps

OCTOBER 17, 2003 ( IDG NEWS SERVICE ) - Making good on a promise made last
week from CEO Steve Ballmer to simplify security patch deployment for
companies, Microsoft Corp. this week released a consolidated Windows XP
update that brings together 22 critical updates into one downloadable
package. 
The new release, known as Update Rollup 1 for Microsoft Windows XP, was
posted on the company's Windows Update Web site and includes almost 9MB of
security fixes for machines running the operating system. 

Software fixes for a wide range of Windows XP problems are in the release,
including 17 patches from 2002 and 2003 that were tied to security bulletins
from Microsoft.

available Freeware. Most of the listings are well-known programs, but there

How are Pricelessware programs chosen? 

A new list of Pricelessware programs is chosen once a year by
alt.comp.freeware newsgroup participants. Programs are sometimes added or
removed during the year. The list is reviewed regularly for updated
versions. 

The alt.comp.freeware definition of freeware is: legally obtainable software
that you may use at no cost, monetary or otherwise, for as long as you wish.
When a program does not completely conform to the above definition the
program description will have a special notation. The program may be

Other notes such as "Last available freeware version" may also be present.

Running Two Versions of the Same Program

They're two different things. The button at the bottom of the screen stands
for a program that has already been loaded into the computer's memory. It's
already running, ready for immediate action. The icon on your desktop or in
Windows Explorer stands for a program that is sitting on the computer's hard
disk waiting to be loaded.

If you mistakenly click the icon in Windows Explorer or on the desktop
rather than the taskbar button, you load a second copy of the program. Two
versions of the program are loaded: one running as a window and the other
running as a taskbar button waiting to be turned back into a window.

Running two versions of a program can cause confusion especially if you
start entering stuff into both versions of the same program. You won't know
which window has the right version!
So try to avoid this if, say, you're working on a word processing document.
However, this practice can be useful when you want to view two different Web
sites in Internet Explorer without having to use the Back and Forward
buttons to navigate to each one. Just click on the taskbar buttons to switch
between sites.
