Harley brings nearly half a million miles of smiles
http://news.statesmanjournal.com/article_print.cfm?i=69165
Albert Ver Cruysse, 87, of Salem, is sending his Harley-Davidson touring
bike with sidecar to the Harley-Davidson museum in Wisconsin. He kept
meticulous records about the 451,775 miles he logged on the motorcycle,
often riding to raise money to combat muscular dystrophy. Failing vision
forced Albert Ver Cruysse to give up his driver?s license in September.

TinkerTool 3 for Mac OS X free
http://www.bresink.com/osx/TinkerTool.html
TinkerTool allows you to access user settings built into Mac OS X that
cannot be controlled by the standard "System Preferences" application. The
latest version has been completely rewritten and uses a new technology that
allows the tool to automatically adapt to different operating system
versions. This way it is backward-compatible down to OS version 10.0 and
will also guarantee fast adaption to future versions of Mac OS X.
TinkerTool makes sure that preference changes can only affect the current
user. You don't need administrative privileges to use the tool. With this
design, it is no problem to use TinkerTool in professional networks where
users have restricted permissions. The program will never change any
component of the operating system, so the integrity of your system is not
put at risk, and there will be no negative effect on system updates.
All preference settings changed by TinkerTool can be reset to Apple's
defaults, or to the state that existed before using the tool. No dangerous
background processes are used for TinkerTool's operation.
Because TinkerTool only gives you access to features already built into Mac
OS X, its feature set varies greatly between different operating system
versions.

ClearType Text
Microsoft has a page where you can adjust your clear type font settings.
I used it on all of my monitors and it made a difference for me...and none
of my monitors are flat screens...so you might want to try it:
This page even lets you turn on your clear type settings without having to
go into the control panel...once you turn them on, the page then lets you
choose which setting works best for you and set it right from this page:

MRU-Blaster
http://www.wilderssecurity.net/mrublaster.html
Protect your privacy - MRU-Blaster can detect and clean over 30,000 MRU
lists and other stores of hidden information on your computer!
MRU-Blaster is an all-new program, made to do one large task - detect and
clean MRU (most recently used) lists on your computer. These MRU lists
contain information such as the names and/or locations of the last files you
have accessed. But they are located ALL OVER your registry, and for almost
ANY file type. By looking at these MRU lists, someone could determine what
files you opened/saved/looked at, what their file names were, and much more!
(And, in many cases, the lists are displayed in drop-down menus
automatically.)

Big Key Keyboards
http://www.fentek-ind.com/bigkey.htm
While geniuses at cell phone and PDA companies work hard to figure out how
to make ever smaller usable gadget keyboards, one
Cottonwood, Arizona, company called Fentek Industries applies its brainpower
to the creation of huge PC keyboards with giant keys!
Naturally you can buy them on the web.

How to Change File Extensions
This is something that you should not need to do very often, because you
could potentially render a file unreadable if you change the
extension to something no application can understand.
But if you're sure you need to assign a file a new extension, it's not hard
to do so.
You just need to make sure you set up your desktop to show extensions.
Open a folder and go to View, Folder Options.
Click the View tab and uncheck the box that says;
"Hide File Extensions For Known File Types".
When you rename a file from that point forward, you can type a period and
three letter characters to give it a new extension.

By popular request (They dragged me kicking and screaming...): the ability
to "chirp" when a new clipping is detected. Just rename "clip.wav.Bak" to
"clip.wav" or copy in the file of your choice and name it "clip.wav".
You can now instruct YCIII to ignore pictures (METAFILES) from problematic
apps such as MS Excel which copies metafiles of nearly infinite width to the
clipboard when you select an entire row. This metafile isn't of much use at
a later time anyway.
Free- totally, no strings attached Free

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.
