Windows 2000 SP4 final released
By INQUIRER staff: Wednesday 25 June 2003, 12:46
http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=10178
OUR FRIENDS at Neowin say that they've a full list of all the fixes for
service pack four of Microsoft Windows 2000.
There is a grand total of 669 public fixes and six for Microsoft's partners,
the site said.

And Neowin also has the patch on its site which you can download although of
course this is at your own risk.

You can find the fix list, the download page, and the previous release dates
for SP4, right here.

Some of the FIXes are classics of our time. We like "an attempt was made to
remember a device that had previously been remembered", and "stop error
occurs when you start the computer for the first time". A "laptop computer
has no IP address after hibernating" is a goodie, as is "operation failed
for unspecified reasons", and "The Logical Disk Counters Read Zero on a
Cluster After a Disk Failover and Failback".
Now dare we download it?

ABC-EDUCA Startpage Creator
http://www.abc-educa.nl/download-spc.html
Freeware

{Dynamic HTML from Favorites} Quit scrolling through all those saved Web
links; Place all of them into your very own (very dynamic) start page. Have
you ever visited pages covered in "boxed" link sections? The process is
straightforward, for the most part. The EDUCA front-end sports quite a few
fields; it'll help kindle your creation. You will need to change the names
of the (appropriate) Favorites folders, but the result should
make that switch worthwhile. When you're finished (and satisfied with the
results), you can upload your new HTML file to the Web!

9
Don't forget F1

The first spot you should stop for help when you are stuck in an application
should be the application's help file which can almost always be found by
pressing the F1 key. Most products now have context sensitive help so when
you are stuck on a particular item, pressing F1 will display help for that
specific item. Using this available tool is sure to get you on your a little
bit faster.

Mike's Friday Tip ~ Organize Your Bookmarks/Favorites

If you are like me you have a large variety of links save in your
Bookmarks/Favorites.
You can organize them fairly easily.

In Netscape, go to Bookmarks> Manage Bookmarks.
A new window will pop up.
You can create new folders, I try to group common sites into folders, or new
separators or rename or delete Bookmarks.

In Internet Explorer, go to Favorites> Organize Favorites.
A new window pops up which allows you to Create New folders or Move, Delete
or Rename Favorites.

MSN Messenger 6 Allows IM Lovers to Express Themselves With Style

New Era of Instant Messaging Dawns With Unique Ways To Personalize, Share
and Connect

REDMOND, Wash. -- June 18, 2003 -- Instant messaging (IM) got more spirited
and savvy today with the worldwide availability of a public preview program
for MSN® Messenger 6. The launch ends the era of "vanilla" instant
messaging, when everyone's IM interface looked the same; :-o was considered
an expressive emoticon; and IM lovers had to go elsewhere to play games or
share live video.

MSN Messenger 6, available beginning today at 11 a.m. PDT from
http://messenger.msn.com/download/v6preview.asp, helps users create their
own online identities through customized display pictures, backgrounds and
emoticons. They also can share more of themselves -- silly or serious --
with IM contacts by competing at live online games, sending photos to their
friends, or sharing animated emoticons that breathe life into that sad old
:). In addition, MSN Messenger 6 lets users connect in fresh, new ways --
via a webcam, a multitude of mobile devices or a Tablet PC -- while blocking
spam and helping protect privacy.

"MSN Messenger 6 lets everyone create their own digital personality and play
in a virtual playground with friends from around the block or around the
world," said Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president for MSN. "Consumers told
us they wanted a place to gather and have fun online, and we've delivered a
hallmark example of MSN's commitment to delivering the best communication
services for consumers worldwide."

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.
