Intel officially unveils P4 with 800MHz and 875P chipset
http://www.geek.com/news/geeknews/2003Apr/bch20030414019587.htm

posted 3:05pm EST Mon Apr 14 2003 - submitted by Sander Olson
BLURB
Intel has just admitted that a bug exists in the 3.0GHZ Pentium 4 with
800MHz bus. Since this part just went on sale, it is unlikely that many
customers are stuck with defective parts. At this point Intel has provided
almost no information about the bug, but consumers won't be getting access
to 3GHz Pentium 4 parts with 800MHz buses anytime soon. The P4 bus is
actually 200MHz, but quad-pumped for an effective speed of 800MHz. The
Pentium 4 800MHz bus part is designed to go with the 875P chipset. Since
Intel isn't planning on scaling the 130 nm Pentium 4 much higher, this
800MHz bus part may end up being the fastest Intel microprocessor that
consumers can obtain until the winter. In general, performance improved only
from 0-12% with the 800MHz bus, so most consumers won't notice any
difference between performance from a 3.06GHz part with 533MHz bus and
3.0GHz part with 800MHz bus. It is clear that neither AMD nor Intel are
planning any major moves before the fall. The real question now is how the
130 nm Athlon 64 will compare with the 90 nm Intel Prescott. Thanks to
Marketman for a heads-up on the 800MHz bus delay.

America Online Steps Up Spam Fight
http://www.newstream.com/us/public_story.html?9105
April 2003 (Newstream) -- America Online, Inc. (NYSE: AOL), as part of its
ongoing, comprehensive battle against spammers, today announced a sweeping
series of lawsuits against individuals and companies that it alleges have
repeatedly sent members high volumes of unwanted junk emails using a variety
of evasive means to circumvent AOL's spam filters.
AOL is filing five separate lawsuits against over a dozen companies and
individuals, who the Company alleges are together responsible for sending an
estimated one billion spam emails to AOL members and generating over 8
million individual spam complaints from members. The latest lawsuits filed
by AOL are the first to leverage the complaints received by AOL from its
members who are using the popular "Report Spam" button in AOL 8.0.

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
