Aspire Digital's AD-8000
http://www.aspiredigital.com/
The AD-8000 is the first product that combines both a DVD player and CD-RW

2xExplorer ~ free
http://netez.com/2xExplorer/intro.html
Lightweight and powerful, fully shell integrated and extremely usable for
increased everyday productivity, 2xExplorer is an ideal dual-pane
replacement for explorer, compatible with all 32-bit windows platforms.
2xExplorer does whatever the windows explorer will do for file management,
but goes much further, filling some glaring omissions in this product:
Dual pane layout, with intelligent communication between two independent
panes
Powerful selection engine, for easily building up selection patterns for
items before file operations
File filters, both for selecting and for displaying files
Drivebar navigation, for accessing quickly all the drives installed on a
computer
Keyboard shortcuts for nearly all its commands, for efficient everyday use
Complete file date information, utilising Creation and LastAccessed
information as well as the normal Modification date.
Proper path resolution, including UNC and relative paths (e.g. "C:" as
opposed to "C:\")
Printing of folder contents, find results and other statistics
Proper file sorting, based on extension (alphabetically)
Note that all these goodies ? including file synchronization and thumbnail
viewers ? are available in both filesystem and zip folders (where this
feature is available, e.g. windows XP/ME etc).
It is a modern version of Norton Commander

Personal Ancestral File is a FREE genealogy software program
provided by the LDS organization. It creates
GEDCOMs, tracks your ancestry and much more.
Add in photos or voice files, track your full history through as
many generations as you know about. Since
it creates the GEDCOM files that every other software program can
import, you know that your data will be
fully accessible regardless of whether you choose to migrate to
another software package down the road.
Highly recommended as an inexpensive way to get into tracking
your genealogy. You can always upgrade later if you wish, or you
might find that PAF meets your needs for years to come!

Clearing Formating
This is such a simple tip, but might be something you've never
thought of. I have a hard time copying things from the web to
Word or from Excel to Word. Word always tries to save formatting
and it almost always messes it up. If you don't want any
formatting brought over when you are pasting into a program,
first paste the text into Notepad. This will only copy the text.
Then copy the text from Notepad into the program and you'll have
none of the strange formatting.

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.

"MikesWhatsNews" believes in giving credit where credit is due but at times
deadlines and information that is very important to readers we accidentally
misspost an item.

the articles which we have posted as 'unknown', please do let us know so we can
correct the information where applicable.
Many times in a article you may see a click here for more information, or to go
to a link, these often will not work, as the original information, was taken
from a page with HTML links. This is when you will want to go to the webpage
indicated in the article, ++ ,for 'the rest of the story'
***MfM*** indicates that I am adding my own information to a particular
