November 20, 2002
Important Notice

If your computer is part of a managed network, please contact your
organization's system administrator before making changes to your computer.

Why is this update needed?
An identified security vulnerability could allow an attacker to compromise
Microsoft® Windows®-based systems and then take any of a variety of
actions, such as changing Web pages or reformatting your hard disk. You can
help eliminate this issue by installing this update from Microsoft.

Who needs to apply this update?
Anyone using Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows 98 SE, Windows 98,
or Microsoft Windows NT® 4.0 needs the update. Windows XP is not affected
by this issue. At greatest risk are systems that operate Web sites using
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) and anyone who browses the Web
using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Two types of computers are at particular risk. If either of the following
describes your computer, you should install the patch immediately:

Computers that are used to browse the Web or read e-mail. Most workstations
and laptop computers fall into this category.
Computers that host Web sites using IIS.
Which versions of Windows are eligible for the update?
Updates are available for the following Windows versions. Earlier versions
than those listed below are no longer supported and may or may not be
affected by the vulnerability:

Windows 2000
Windows Millennium
Windows 98
Microsoft Windows NT® 4.0
Next Steps
Ready to install the update? Choose the appropriate next step for you:

Get the update automatically with our Automatic Updates service.

F-Secure protects US taxpayers' data at IRS

Helsinki, Finland, November 20, 2002 - F-Secure Corporation announces that
it
has signed an agreement to provide encryption to the US Internal Revenue
Service. The F-Secure FileCrypto product is used to protect and encrypt
confidential data such as taxpayer information on laptops and desktops.

The proliferation of computer hacking and cracking as well as loss and theft
of laptops and other equipment have made file level security even more
critical. F-Secure FileCrypto is the first and only cryptographic solution
based on a FIPS 140-2 certified module. The product is part of F-Secure's
comprehensive security portfolio protecting against data theft, intrusions
and viruses. F-Secure's products are centrally managed, policy based and
transparent to the end user. This enables administrators to enforce
organizational security policies and insures that critical information will
be protected at all times.

GovConnection Inc. partnered with F-Secure to deliver F-Secure FileCrypto to
the IRS. "We feel confident in recommending F-Secure to provide FIPS 140-2
certified security products for our government customers' needs," says Gary
Sorkin, President of GovConnection, Inc. "The IRS technology implementation
will give taxpayers and corporations absolute assurance that their tax
information in the IRS's possession remains intact and unreachable by
outsiders."

"At F-Secure, we are very proud of the fact that an organization with high
security demands such as IRS has chosen F-Secure as their encryption
provider," says Ilkka Starck, Executive VP of the Americas at F-Secure
Corporation, San Jose, CA. "Automatic content security solution enables
people to work in a more flexible manner without compromising security and
confidentiality."

F-Secure was the first company in the world to be granted FIPS 140-2
certification for its security technology. The certification is necessary
for
successful dealing with US and Canadian governments and agencies. For more
information on the certification, see

Turkey Tradition
http://www.theholidayspot.com/thanksgiving/turkey.htm
"The turkey is a much more respectable Bird and withal a true original
Native of North America".
Remarked Benjamin Franklin, the scientist cum statesman, who was in favor of
making Turkey the national Bird, instead of Bald Eagle.
The wild turkey is native to northern Mexico and the eastern United States.
Later it was domesticated in Mexico, and was brought into Europe early in
the 16th century.

Since that time, turkeys have been extensively raised because of the
excellent quality of their meat and eggs.

Some of the common breeds of turkey in the United States are the Bronze,
Narragansett, White Holland, and Bourbon Red.
Though there is no real evidence that turkey was served at the Pilgrim's
first thanksgiving, but through ages it became an indispensable part of the
Thanksgiving tradition. The tradition of turkey is rooted in the 'History Of
Plymouth Plantation', written by William Bradford some 22 years after the
actual celebration.

Installing more then one Anti Virus Program
There is a difference between Installing more then one antivirus and
Running more then one antivirus

Yes you can "try" to install more then one antivirus on any given system.
Be advised that Some antivirus programs don't like to install if certain
others are present, they will usually request/require the other be
uninstalled first before installation can continue. For the most part if
you have one new antivirus program the doesn't like the previously installed
program try uninstalling the previous and reinstalling it after the new
program is installed.

Installing more then one antivirus program is one thing and is actually
encouraged as no antivirus product is 100% effective, two gives you better
odds. Running them is quite another!

It is Never a good idea to run more then one antivirus program at a time.
Find the one program that You like and prefer to have as your always on
scanning in the background program, have it run on system start up and
configure it properly, Update it regularly! The second program install
it as normal and configure it properly but Remove it from auto startup on
system start (most will have a checkbox of sorts in the options to Run on
startup... Deselect that option). Make sure you keep it updated, regular
updates are not necessary, however make sure you Update it when you intend
on using it for ondemand scanning or regular system scanning.

Use the second program Only for scanning newly downloaded files etc or Files
you suspect to be infected and for a regular system scan to give yourself a
second opinion.

Do Not run them at the same time. Completely disable one while running the
other, the reasoning behind this is each antivirus program is going to
treat your files differently during the scanning process. If both programs
attempt to scan the same file at the same time it may cause problems.
Problems can occur in the scanning procedures itself (antivirus program
failures/errors) or it may do damage to the file itself possibly leaving it
corrupt and unusable.

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.
