KillAd ~ freeware
http://www.iomagic.org/fsc/
As you may have noticed, many Internet sites love to open additional browser
windows (so called "popups") with advertising contents. KillAd assists you
to close all undesirable popups automagically. Being a phairly sophisticated
sophtware phull oph pheatures, it is highly customizable, small in size,
undemanding to system resources, fast, and (I hope) reliable.
Program status
The program is freeware. Since I do not sell it I cannot guarantee your
satisfaction.
However, I'd like to know whether you are satisfied or not.
Supported platforms
Windows 9x, Windows NT.
Supported browsers
Netscape Navigator 3.x-4.x, Internet Explorer 3.x-5.x, Opera 3.x. Write me
if you want your favorite browser to be included in the list.
Please note I'm not going to install it so I'll need your help.
If you are not good in debugging, your chances are pretty low.

Build It: Tips and Tools to Get Started
http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,3973,633402,00.asp
About to build a new system?
We've made all the mistakes already, so don't touch that screwdriver until
you read Loyd Case's guidelines on what you need before you build.
Building your own system can be either a very satisfying experience, or a
very frustrating one.
Whether it's fun or frustrating has more to do with what you do before you
actually start the assembly process, rather than the act of building.
In this article, I'm going to share some tips, and show you some of the
tools we use around here for building our systems.

Right Click
Don't forget to RIGHT CLICK (press the right button on your
mouse) especially when you're using a program designed for
Windows for the first time. Not only will you be able to get
quick help on items you're
clicking on (most of the time of course), but you'll sometimes
find features that are simply not accessible any other way.

to the list. Best of all, WinGuard Pro Free is really easy to use, because
you have so much already built in for you, you need not do much in your

AutoSizer 1.4 ~ free
http://www.southbaypc.com/AutoSizer/
Resize your programs automatically
AutoSizer automatically resizes any window you specify. For instance, some
web browsers open up in a non-maximized window. Using AutoSizer, you can set
those windows to automatically maximize every time they?re opened. It
works with almost any program, including web browsers, Notepad, etc.
AutoSizer stays running in the system tray (next to the time), so it stays
out of your way while it works.
____________________________________________________________
Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.
