Change the Location of My Documents, My Music and Desktop Folders
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp
While on the subject of TweakUI, did you know this handy tool makes it easy
to change the location of system folders like My Documents, My Music and
Desktop?
It can change the location of a lot of other folders too! Check this out:

Click Start and point to All Programs.
Point to Powertoys for Windows XP and click on TweakUI for Windows XP
In the TweakUI dialog box, expand the My Computer entry on the left side of
the dialog box.
Click on the Special Folders entry.
Click the down arrow in the Folder down list box.
Click the Change Location button.
Carefully read the dialog box that explains what happens when you change
folders.
Make sure the folder you want to change does exist on the hard disk. Click
Yes.
In the Browse for Folder dialog box, click on the folder you want to change
the location to.
Click Apply and then click OK.
The change takes place immediately.
Note the files aren't automatically moved, so you need to copy the files
from the old location to the new location.

Open An eBook
http://www.openanebook.org/
The eBook hasn't put print publishers out of business, as
some industry pundits declared would happen. Nor has the
eBook really set fire to the fancy of readers throughout
the civilized world. But anyone who has spent some time
reading an eBook will tell you that there's always a time
or place for which reading an eBook is a handier
proposition than reading an actual book.

The Open An eBook site is dedicated to the eBook. At this
site you can find "lots of information about eBooks
including devices, software and other resources that will
help you dive right into the world of eBooks! Best of all,
you can download eBooks from leading publishers," all for
free.

Remove "Uninstallable" XP Components
http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,3973,551909,00.asp
There are a number of Windows components-notably Windows Messenger and
WordPad?that don't show up on the list of uninstallable components on the
Windows Component Wizard. There's no apparent way to uninstall them. But you
can, in fact, remove these components.

XP has a Setup Information file that controls what appears in the Windows
Component Wizard. If you edit this file, you can remove these components as
you would any others.

Mouse Emulator
http://www.geocities.com/pronto4u/mouseemulator.html
The program is freeware and runs under Windows NT/9x and above.
Is your mouse broken, or did you just forget it?
Or maybe you are having USB driver problems, and your mouse isn't working.
With Mouse Emulator, you can still use your computer.

Yust run the program, and it will show you which keys you have to press to
move the mouse cursor.
For more information, check the readme or read the manual on this page.

This program is also very usefull for laptop owners with low quality mouses.

Just hold down the Fn key, and you can use the numeric keypad in the center
of your keyboard to move the mouse!

Mouse Emulator can also toggle mouse buttons with a simple key press.
This is very useful for RSI users that have problems with drag operations
with the mouse.

MyCPU
Freeware
http://www.seelhofer.ch/mad/download/download.html

MyCPU is a small utility to find out which cpu is installed. It
shows vendor, type, model, stepping and
speed information. Additionally it scans for features like MMX,
3dnow and SIMD (ISSE). Finally, it is able
to read cache information such as the size of the L1-data &
-instruction cache and the unified L2 cache.

Three Ways To Maximize All

Yesterdays tip offered three ways to minimize all your open
windows at once.
Today we have three ways to get back all the windows you
have minimized:

* Click on the Show Desktop icon next to your Start button, if
you have one. (It's a Windows 98 and above feature.)

* Right-click on a blank space on the taskbar across the bottom
of your screen and select Undo Minimize All from the context
menu.

* If you have a Windows keyboard, hold down both Shift and the
Windows keys, then press M.

Keep in mind that having all windows maximized will drain system
resources. If you are working in multiple
applications simultaneously, you will want to be careful, to
avoid a system crash.

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.
