Welcome to Perfect Drivers.
http://www.perfectdrivers.com/
Looking for a driver? You've come to the right place.
Perfect Drivers has links for just about all video drivers, modem drivers,
printer drivers, soundcard drivers, even cdrom drivers.

At Perfect Drivers, things are done a little differently then they are at
some other places on the internet. To begin, we are not owned by a
corporation. We are just a small group of computer people who offer to help
others for free. Some of us are bench techs, some are system admins and for
some, computers are just a hobby.

We've made every attempt to keep Perfect Drivers as lean as possible.
Most people just want to find drivers quickly without frills or hassles.
We've kept that in mind when we designed this drivers site.

Perfect Drivers has links for just about all video drivers, modem drivers,
printer drivers, soundcard drivers, even cdrom drivers.

Kaspersky Labs Announces the Public Testing of Its Personal Firewall -
Kaspersky Anti-Hacker

Kaspersky Labs announces the release of the beta version for its new
product Kaspersky Anti-Hacker and invites all those interested to take
part in its public beta testing.

Kaspersky Anti-Hacker is an easy-to-use system of defense against
hacker attacks, ensuring maximum protection of personal computers
running Windows operating systems. Thanks to its control of all network
operations on a computer (it tracks all application activity, oversees
all Internet access and filters incoming and outgoing data packets and
more), Kaspersky Anti-Hacker guarantees the confidentiality of all
stored data.

The improved beta version has additional functions, including an
additional level of security, a "self-learning" mode that has been added
to the program's settings. In addition the program now can filter data
on the application level (high level filtration), which allows the
selection of specific applications for filtration. For each application
it is possible to assign any amount of rules and when network operations
are detected it is possible to deflect them. Users will be warned and
can block any undesired actions.

Rules are defined in two ways - by type (email, message transfer
systems, browsers, conferencing software, etc.) and by the assignment of
permitted remote services and addresses for each application. This
allows, from one side, to ensure that applications are not interrupted
and from the other it secures information stored on the computer from
unauthorized outside access.

To familiarize yourself with the terms and procedures of taking part
please visit the Kaspersky Labs web site at:
http://www.kaspersky.com/beta.html

The more active beta-testing participants will be awarded valuable prizes.

Tina's FrontPage Tips, by Tina Clarke

Euro Symbol ?

On January 1, 2002 the euro moved into common circulation with the
introduction of coins and notes in the euro-zone.
This changeover will impact 12 countries, more than 310 million consumers,
and every organization or individual that has dealings with the region.

Do you have a commerce site or have the need to write the Euro symbol and
what do you do if your keyboard is not up-to-date?

For UK Alt - Gr + 4
*For US (international) - Alt Gr + 5

'Alt Gr' is your RIGHT alt button on the keyboard hold this down whilst
pressing the number for your country.
*On standard US keyboards hold down either 'Alt' key and type 0128 on the
numeric keypad part of your keyboard. The
AltGr combinations listed are not implemented on US keyboard as users expect
both right and left Alt keys to have the same effect.

You can also utilise FrontPage 2002 to obtain the Euro symbol. On the main
menu GoTo Insert | Symbol in the 'from' box click Unicode (hex) and in the
subset box click 'Currency Symbols' the Euro symbol will then be available.

You can find out more about this subject at:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/itsoluti
ons/techsol/euro/default.asp

NOTE: FrontPage Express V2.0 now has the Euro symbol.

WizQuote
http://www.gemx.com/wizquote.php
Freeware
Windows 95/98/NT4/2000 (Win95 users need Explorer 4+ for the help
files)

This application will give you some quotes to ponder. Maybe
you're looking for something catchy to put at the end of all your
e-mails. Enjoy the wisdom of Napoleon, Franklin and Einstein.
You can even look at
some humorous quotes that are listed. Topics include love,
intelligence and life.

You have to feed your brain from time to time as you feed your
belly. Other than feeding your brain with the refined lifelong
experiences of the greatest brains throughout history, you can
also use them to get
your point across clearly and strongly.

Once you find the quotations you like to keep what do you do. How
can you organize them for easy and quick access, where can you
store thousands of them yet quickly access them when you need
them.
WizQuote has all the answers to these questions.

WizQuote will benefit anyone who wants to tab into a rich world
of wisdom and wants to further their communications skills.

Backing Up Your Work

Computer users should back up their hard disks regularly by
making a second copy for safekeeping in one of several ways:

* Floppies: Some people copy all their files from the hard
disk to a bunch of floppy disks. Custom-written backup programs
make this task easier, but it's still time-consuming (especially
with drives as large as they are these days!).

* Tape backup unit: This special computerized tape recorder
either lives inside the computer like a disk
drive or plugs into the back of the computer. Either way, the
gizmo tape-records all the information on your hard disk. Then,
when your hard disk dies, you still have all your files on tape.
The faithful tape backup
unit plays back all your information onto the new hard disk.

* Removable disk: These guys work like floppy disks.
Removable disks are usually just a little larger than a floppy,
but can hold more than a hundred times as much information.

* Automatic network backup: The luckiest people don't need to
worry about backing up their hard disk at all -- they work on a
network that handles all the backup chores automatically.

Mike's Friday Tip ~ Windows Support Tools on Win XP Pro

I was able to find some interesting support files and applications on
the Win XP Pro CD

Put the Windows XP CD in your CD Rom> cancel when it tries to Auto-run.
Go to My Computer, and right click on the CD Rom drive
Chose> Explore> look in the '\SUPPORT\TOOLS
then open the 'README.HTML'

"About the Tools
The Windows Support Tools for Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Windows
XP 64-Bit Edition are intended for use by Microsoft support personnel and
experienced users to assist in diagnosing and resolving computer problems.
For individual tool descriptions, see the Windows Support Tools online tool
documentation (Suptools.chm)."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Setup for Support Tools Software
The Windows Support Tools for Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Windows
XP 64-Bit Edition are located in the \Support\Tools folder on the Windows XP
Professional and Windows XP 64-Bit Edition CDs, respectively. The
\Support\Tools folder contains a Windows Installer file (suptools.msi),
which installs the Support Tools utilities and tools on your computer's hard
drive.

Note
The Application Compatibility Toolkit does not install with the Support
Tools.

Important
These tools have not been localized: they are written and tested in English
only. Using these tools with a different language version of Microsoft
Windows XP Professional or Windows XP 64-Bit Edition might produce
unpredictable results.

There are numerous other Addons on the CD as well, I found the FAX on mine,
which I had overlooked.

Microsoft has several different features that are not installed by default.
Take some time to Explore your instaltion CD.

I took the time to look at some other CD's that I had which had come with
some of the hardware for my computer.
My CD Rom instaltion disk had some games on it, and my DVD CD had a free
movie.

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
