Beyond Plain Paper
http://www.homeandoffice.hp.com/hho/ca/eng/beyond_plain_paper.html?page_id
=8789

Remember the old days, when computer paper came in long, continuous sheets?
You had to thread it carefully through the printer, making sure the holes
along the edges were caught properly by the tractor feet. When you were
finished printing, you faced the time-consuming task of pulling off those
perforated edges and manually separating each page from the next. And what
about facsimile paper? Remember those difficult-to-replace rolls and the
slick coating that gradually turned so dark that your fax was unreadable
after a few months?

Paper?s come a long way in the last decade. Just about every mainstream
printing device today utilizes plain, cut-sheet paper (bond paper) in
easy-loading paper trays. Of course ?plain paper? is a bit misleading,
because there is nothing plain about the variety of papers currently
available for printers.

How to Repair a Whacked Out Network Interface Card
http://www.winxpnews.com
Most of us take our network interface cards for granted. There's a good
reason for that! Network interface cards (NICs) are very reliable and rarely
fail. But sometimes strange things can happen which prevent the NIC from
working properly. If you find your network connections aren't working quite
right, then you might find the NIC repair utility helpful. The repair
utility is a lot faster than restarting the computer!

Click Start and then click Control Panel
In the Control Panel switch to Category view and click on the Network and
Internet Connections icon
On the Network and Internet Connections page, click on the Network
Connections icon
Right click on your Local Area Connection and click Repair. The Repair
Connection dialog box will appear and inform you that the Repair operation
has completed. Click OK.
Now try to get to the Internet or another computer on your network.
Everything should work OK. If not, restart the computer. You might have to
find a computer expert friend to help if restarting the computer doesn't
help!

Adding Office Documents to a FrontPage 2000-Based Web
http://office.microsoft.com/assistance/2000/fpofficeDocs.aspx
Microsoft Office 2000 makes it easy to incorporate your Word documents,
Excel workbooks, or PowerPoint® presentations
into your FrontPage®-based web. Simply by saving a document to the Web
folder where your FrontPage-based web is stored,
you can add the document to your web.

You can save the document in its binary format (.doc, .xls, .ppt) or save it
as a Web page (.htm). Once the document is in your web, you can edit it by
running FrontPage or by running the application you used to create it. You
can use FrontPage to create hyperlinks to the document or add the document
to your web's navigation structure.

Saving a Document to a FrontPage-Based Web
You can save an Office document to your web in either of two formats:

Binary format (.doc for Word, .xls for Excel, .ppt for PowerPoint)
HTML format (Web page)
If you save the document in binary format, visitors to your Web site must
have the appropriate Office application to view the document. If you save
the document in HTML format, visitors can view the document in their Web
browser even if they don't have Office.

1. I will not give out personal information such as my address, telephone
number, parents? work address/telephone number, or the name and location
of my school without my parents? permission
2. I will tell my parents right away if I come across any information that
makes me feel uncomfortable.
3. I will never agree to get together with someone I "meet" online without
first checking with my parents. If my parents agree to the meeting, I will

4. I will never send a person my picture or anything else without first
checking with my parents.
5. I will not respond to any messages that are mean or in any way make me
feel uncomfortable. It is not my fault if I get a message like that. If I do
I will tell my parents right away so that they can contact the service
provider.
6. I will talk with my parents so that we can set up rules for going online.
We will decide upon the time of day that I can be online, the length of time
I can be online, and appropriate areas for me to visit. I will not access
other areas or break these rules without their permission

7. I will not give out my Internet password to anyone (even my best friends)
other than my parents
8. I will be a good online citizen and not do anything that hurts other
people or is against the law.

Solitaire Secret
Need a break from work? Solitaire is a nice diversion. If you're
playing the three-card draw version, you can
find a secret keyboard combination that the programmer added just
for you.

Say that you can see the card you need, but it's not the top card
in the pile. To get to that card, click Game, Undo to return the
last three cards to the deck. Then, hold down the Ctrl, Alt, and
Shift keys all at once as you click the deck. It's magic! Only
one card at a time turns from the deck. When you release the
Ctrl, Alt, and Shift keys, the cards again turn normally -- three
cards at a time.

Clean Disk Security v6.0 -
http://www.theabsolute.net/sware/clndisk.html
- Comprehensive disk cleaning for the very tightest security (for Win95,
Win98, WinME, WinNT, Win2000, WinXP) -

What is Clean Disk Security? -
This program gives you secure file deletion, making sure that deleted files
cannot be undeleted again. Deleting a file normally just removes the file's
directory entry, but the data itself remains on the disk. This program
completely eliminates the contents of deleted files. The highly acclaimed
Gutmann disk cleaning method is now available as an option. This program can
also clean the Window's swap file, and can optionally clean unneeded
temporary files from your hard disk, such as your Internet browser cache,
files in your system's Recycle Bin, and can clear the "recent files" list.
Comes with a direct disk viewer for discovering exactly what is on your hard
disk.

- Don't sell your hard drive before cleaning it with Clean Disk Security
?!
Cost: $25 is your security worth that much?
