Oh my!
http://www.techtales.com/tftechs.html
I work for a fairly large isp in a rural town in Louisiana. We get
some interesting calls pertaining to computer problems, not
internet problems. Apparently, some people see the words
"technical support" and assume that we do general support.
The one that I will always remember is the lady who asked
why her computer wouldn't do anything. I began asking her
the general troubleshooting questions when she stopped me.
The computer wasn't getting any power.

Asked customer what her computer was plugged into.
"The surge protector".
Not meaning to be a smart a**, I asked her what the surge
protector was plugged into.
Her response knocked me out of my chair. "The surge protector".
She had taken the surge protector and plugged it into itself.
The scary thing was this lady is a teacher.

McAfee Security to update line ~ by Mirko Zorz -
http://www.net-security.org/news.php?id=614
All of the new McAfee Security software will sport enhanced
user interface designs and will be easier to configure, said
Lisa Smith, product manager at the Santa Clara,
 Calif.-based company.
The new products will be available on Sept. 15.

First up for revision is McAfee's flagship antivirus software,
VirusScan. The new version, VirusScan Home 7.0, integrates
the company's personal firewall software to give users an
even higher level of protection against viruses and worms,
Smith said. The software also extends McAfee's HAWK
(Hostile Activity Watch Kernel) features to allow users to
scan for viruses in SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)
e-mail received in programs such as Outlook Express and
Eudora, she said. Also included in the new version is Script
Stopper, a tool designed to block the spread of script-based
viruses, she added.

iHateSpam Reviews

iHateSpam joins your Radmin program as top performing tools
that I believe are also exceptional values." -- Rick Wilkes, CTO

Another user is Tech Journalist Al Fasoldt.

He wrote: "I would have been happy if iHateSpam had cut my
junk mail total in half. But in fact it slashed the total down at
least 99 percent.
Better yet, it is giving me back the time that spammers had
stolen from me. I can't imagine booting up without this incredible
software."

Tina's FrontPage Tips, by Tina Clarke

Showing all you have

It's a good idea to insert a index page into
any folders you have on your website including
your images folder. By doing this visitors are not
looking through your images files, or lets say
any .exe files you have for download in a folder
for the purpose. They can't get past your index
page.

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.
