Freelists News~ SPAM prevention changes
Effective immediately, FreeLists will be making use of the
Spamhaus (http://www.spamhaus.org) SBL, a list of known
"SPAM gangs," who supposedly account for 90% of North
American and European SPAM.
This particular service should not affect anyone sending mail
from a legitimate email host. Depending on the outcome of this
change, however, we may need to participate in other block lists
which may block mail from slightly more legitimate mail hosts.
In recent months, these SPAM b***ards have gotten much
worse; it's time we're part of the solution instead of a member
of the herd that ignores the problem.
Thanks,
John

Provide feedback on the next version of pcAnywhere
The pcAnywhere development team wants to hear from you.
We will be previewing some ideas for future versions of
pcAnywhere in two online presentations on Thursday,
July 25, at 8 A.M. PST/11 A.M. EST and again at
1 P.M. PST/4 P.M. EST.
These webcasts will provide a preview of some of the ideas
that we are considering for the next release of pcAnywhere,
currently in the early stages of development. Throughout the
presentation, you'll be given the opportunity to vote on new
feature ideas and new user interface concepts. We will also
take your questions online during the presentation.
pcAnywhere 11.0 will be a very important release with many
new features designed to help you quickly resolve helpdesk
and server problems, as well as providing best-of-breed
remote control, file transfer and new remote management
capabilities. We are also completely revamping our user
interface for the first time since we made the move to
Windows 95 many years ago.
This is a great opportunity to provide comments to the
development team to ensure that future versions of
pcAnywhere continue to meet your needs.
Don't delay! Register now to either attend the presentation
or receive notification when the archived webcast is available.

Army conditions and situations in a 3D gaming environment.
It is a cross between Ghost Recon or Operation Flashpoint

Tina's FrontPage Tips, by Tina Clarke
Neatly does it.
When you need to FTP to the server it's a good
idea to first publish your web to a folder within
your hard drive. THEN FTP the folder to the
server.
This is because FrontPage peforms a number of
jobs at publishing time such as themes being
updated, including banners and overlays etc.
So make a folder named C:\ftpnameofweb then
simply FTP the folder to the server, that way you
won't forget essentials things like images and
those jobs you never see get done are.

RANDOM TAGLINE MANAGER v4.5.1
http://programs.fbrower.com/
Windows 9X/200/NT/XP
This program adds random taglines, or signatures to your Emails.
It will work with any Email program that uses Text/Html/Rtf type
files. The install contains over 6500 taglines, but you can add a
MANY MANY more to the database, or replace these taglines with
your own selection. See features page for full listing of
features.
~~~~~~~
Screen Saver
The most important setting for screen savers is Wait Time, which
is how long your system will wait before
the screen saver kicks in. Once a screen saver has started, just
move the mouse to turn it off and restore
your screen. For extra security when you are away from your
computer, you can have your screen saver
password-protected so that you have to type in your password to
turn it off.
To add password protection, right-click an empty spot on your
desktop and choose Properties. Next, click the
Screen Saver tab and check the Password Protected box, Use the
Change button to change your password. Remember this password
will only affect your screensaver and no other parts of windows
so keep it different then other windows type passwords, wouldn't
want someone to be able access your important files just because
they saw you unlock your screen saver. Click OK.
To indicate a wait time, right-click an empty spot on your
desktop and choose Properties. Next, click the
Screen Saver tab and click on the up or down arrow on the Wait
box. Click OK.
Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for possible viruses,
however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.
