Tina's Front Page Tips

 Simply the way

There is a simple way to create bookmarks and named
anchors - simply select the text you wish to transform into
a bookmark, then holding down the RIGHT mouse button, drag
it to wherever you want the link generated. Then, when
released, select 'Link Here' from the pop-up menu. Other
choices on the menu are 'move here' 'copy here' and cancel.

ActiveClick - Got Carpal Tunnel?
Make ActiveClick Click for You!
ActiveClick automatically Clicks the Mouse, can Drag Windows &
Text without using your Hands, and Makes You Take Stretch Breaks
to Help Relieve the Pain of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tend, & RSI.
ActiveClick works with any mouse, trackball or pointing device.
Sounds strange, huh? It isn't really - ActiveClick detects when you
are moving the mouse - and when you stop -
it waits several milliseconds and then it clicks for you.
You can tell ActiveClick to send a left, double, right, or middle click.
Want to drag a window or some text?
ActiveClick can "grab" a window and when you are done moving it -
it will let go of it.
You will never have to click again for this painful process of moving
stuff around on your desktop!
One of the main exercises to help overcome Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
is doing your proper Stretches. You can setup ActiveClick to tell you
when you need to take a Stretch Break from your computer at a
specific time.
This is a must have feature to help your hands & wrists heal.
ActiveClick supports hotkeys -
so you can click the mouse buttons using the keyboard -
or you can turn off certain features -
like Auto-Drag or ActiveClick.
Also you can swap between right or left-handed individuals using
the mouse. Lastly you can use the Click Filter feature.
It automatically clicks or disables the mouse when you move your
mouse over a window.
For example, if you move the mouse over Word -
it will automatically right click on it if you have the Click Filter
setup to do this.

Windows 98 Multiple Monitor Support Tips
http://www.microsoft.com/insider/articles/multimon.htm
With Windows XP, you can connect up to 10 monitors to your
Windows XP based PC and and display many windows at one time.
What if your PC is still running Windows 98?
Not to worry, you can still enjoy multiple display support with your
older Windows 98 PC.
With multiple monitors you can multitask faster and increase the
virtual size of your desktop by adding additional monitors to your PC.
You=92ll be able to see =93the big picture=94 more clearly with the ability=
 to
control several monitors through a common desktop location.

Coping with Internet Clutter
http://www.symantec.com/homecomputing/clutter.html
You know what happens when you don't take out the trash - it piles
up, gets nasty, and eventually somebody complains.
Terse remarks follow. Blaming and finger-pointing may occur.

Similar scenarios can ensue when you neglect to empty the trash
on your hard drive, only the yelling is usually at your computer,
which pays little attention.

"Trash," you might inquire, "what trash?"

You'd be amazed at how much clutter you have on your computer.
You pick it up whenever you're on the Internet, when you create or
delete files, and when you download applications. Unwanted files
can eat up a lot of hard drive space, and that interferes with the
speed and efficiency of programs you use every day.

The more sites you visit, the more clutter you accumulate
Whenever you surf the Internet, your computer stores -
within a directory called a cache - information about Web sites you
visit. There's a reason for this: when you go back to stored (cached)
sites, your computer remembers parts of these pages, so they load
faster. As you visit sites on the web, your cache file gets bigger and
bigger. And the cache grows quickly; if you surf a lot of sites with
active content, such as flash files, your cache file could build over
time and before you know it you'll have 10 or 20 MB slowing down
your computer.

ISPs Under Attack
<http://www.netmag.co.uk/news/default.asp?subsectionid=3D1&articleid=3D54900=
&pagetype=3D2>
this URL link will wrap..

And if you haven=92t got a firewall, it=92s your fault
You may recall the recent strange case of the ISP CloudNine being
forced to shut down as a result of a massive Distributed Denial of
Service attack on its servers. Back at the end of January, CloudNine
fell victim to a serious of vicious DoS batterings, couldn=92t cope with
the problem, and decided that there was nothing else for it but to
cease providing its services.

CloudNine couldn=92t get back on its feet and a few days later, it sold
its customer base to another ISP, Zetnet. Zetnet is promising to
honour CloudNine=92s customer contracts, and has started up a
FRIACO service for CloudNine=92s unmetered users.

How To Add To Your Personal Toolbar In Netscape

If you use Netscape, there is a very easy way to create your
favorite URLs in the Personal Toolbar. All you have to do is go
to the site you want to add to the toolbar and then use the mouse
to drag the icon just to the left of
"Location" down to the Personal Toolbar.

If you're using Netscape 6, you drag the small icon just to the
left of the http address.
