Thank You Christy
As most of you know Christy has been the driving force behind MWN.
She as encouraged, and supported me, both with suggesting sites,
and providing content.
Such as the HackFix Updates, and AV information.
Not to mention her daily tips in CC section.

After all the hard work she has done, especially in moving the
list,
last weekend;
   THANK YOU CHRISTY
Yes I'm shouting I want you to know how sincere this is.

                                                Mike

Quick Copy/Paste On Non-Edit Fields by - Michael Vincent

Many times in Web browsing or editing, you may encounter a
number or phrase that you would like to copy, but the field
cannot be edited so you cannot click the copy button. You
may still be able to highlight the field. Try highlighting
the field by left-clicking the mouse, and drag it over the
non-editable data. Release the mouse and the data should be
highlighted. Then, while holding the Control (Ctrl) button,
press the Insert button.

Then go to the document or Web page onto which you want to
paste, place your mouse over where you want to paste the
image and single click so that Windows places the cursor
there. Then, while holding down the Shift button, press the
Insert button.

Removing Brilliant ~ part of the KaZaA spyware
http://www.pcmag.com/article/0,2997,s=1490&a=25287,00.asp
Never underestimate the power of an SEC filing. Last week,
Brilliant
Digital Entertainment, a software company based in Woodland Hills,

California, released a 10,000-word statement explaining its latest

activities, and the computer industry was immediately in an
uproar.
Prior to the filing, no one realized the extent to which Brilliant
was
involved with KaZaA, the popular peer-to-peer file-swapping
service.
Everyone knew Brilliant was using KaZaA to distribute digital ads.

That it was also using KaZaA to create its own peer-to-peer
network
came as a complete surprise.
SNIP
If you're a Kazaa user who unwittingly downloaded the AltNet
client,
you can still uninstall it.
"We provide an entry in the uninstall programs menu for anyone to
use and uninstall Brilliant," says Bermeister. The procedure may
differ slightly depending on when you downloaded Kazaa and what
operating system you're using, but, generally, you can uninstall
most
of Brilliant's software by removing a program called "b3d
Projector"
using your Windows "Add/Remove Programs" wizard.

Stopping Viruses Dead with Anti-Virus Software
http://www.microsoft.com/mspress/home_office/tips/default.asp
Viruses can be stopped at one of four points: a desktop computer,
a network file server, an Internet gateway, or an e-mail server.
If your computer is on a corporate network, the network
administrator
is typically in charge of installing and maintaining
virus-detection
software on each of these points. If you're a home user, however,
you must assume the responsibility of protecting your computers by

independently purchasing, installing, and regularly updating
anti-virus software.

Anti-virus software examines files and directories on your
computer
for known viruses and the clues they leave behind. The software
also
checks your computer's memory for viruses that are currently
running
and can scan floppy disks that are inserted into the computer.
In addition, anti-virus software should scan e-mail attachments as

they arrive on your computer. You can typically set the software
to
scan for viruses periodically, whenever a file or program is
accessed,
or on demand.

To ensure that an anti-virus program is working effectively, its
database of known viruses must be updated periodically on your
computer. This update can occur quarterly, monthly, or on demand.
This update process is critical to protecting your computer
against
the most recent viruses.

Cartoon Network

http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/

If you have kids who are fascinated by the programs on the
Cartoon Network, you should let them take a look at the cable
station's Web site. Here they'll find individual sites for their
favorite characters, view favorite clips on
the Theater link, shop, watch Web clips, or play plenty of fun
games based on Cartoon Network characters. There's plenty to keep
the tykes busy and they'll have a blast surfing the site. Check
it out!

 Iconography
You don't have to accept every desktop icon that your Windows
computer gives you to represent a file or folder. You can replace
an icon with an existing graphic (or even just a different Icon).

Click Start, Programs, Accessories, and Paint. In Paint open any
graphic file, though bitmap files work best (you'll know them by
their .bmp extensions). To ensure your new icon doesn't lose its
detail, don't select a large picture.

Choose "Save as" and rename the file, making sure you use ".ico"
as the file's extension, as in filename.ico. Save the file to a
location on your hard drive where you can easily find it, perhaps
a special
folder you've created for odd files like these. Close Paint.

Now right-click on one of the existing, boring icons on your
desktop. From the drop-down menu, choose Properties, then the
Shortcut tab. Now choose the Change Icon button, then Browse.
Find your newly
created icon, double-click on it, then choose OK in both windows.
Your new icon should now appear on your desktop, replacing the
original.

Unfortunately, the Recycle Bin, My Computer and a few other icons
that come with Windows cannot be changed this easily.

Antivirus software is a good choice to scan your system for
possible
viruses, however no virus scanner is 100% effective as
manufactures
cannot keep up with the rapid change of viruses that happens
daily.
Be sure to update yours regularly.
