*Please Help Source Fellows for an Exciting New Opportunity Offered by the
Mulago Foundation*

The Mulago Foundation invites CGBD members to recommend high impact
environment/conservation leaders for a new fellowship program. To refer a
potential fellow for consideration, share contact information with Bernie
Tershy (tershy@xxxxxxxx
<tershy@xxxxxxxx?subject=Mulago%20Conservation%20Fellowship
<http://tershy@xxxxxxxx/?subject=Mulago%20Conservation%20Fellowship>>) or
Kristin
Gilliss (kristin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
<kristin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=Mulago%20Conservation%20Fellowship
<http://kristin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/?subject=Mulago%20Conservation%20Fellowship>

).

Mulago is looking for fellows, whether they are 25 or 55 years old, that
can have real impact at scale in conservation -- from forests to fisheries
to freshwater and climate and beyond. They need to be working on a big
problem with an idea that could work as a solution at big scale.

The goal is to find these conservation entrepreneurs and equip them with
the right tools to design and deliver bigger, better, faster conservation
outcomes. The one-year fellowship is a mix of money ($100,000 unrestricted)
and a lot of support, mentorship and connections. It is bookended by a one
week course in California with great faculty focused on design methodology,
behavior change, communications, leadership and more. The 2016 pilot course
included conservation stalwarts Steve McCormick (former CEO TNC, Moore) and
Peter Seligmann (CI) as faculty.

Mulago cares most about the impact potential of fellows' work, not the
legal structure of their organization (fellows can lead for-profit or
non-profit organizations; it can be a standalone organization or a program
within a big NGO). This fellowship is not an academic fellows program, and
Mulago doesn't support research or projects. Mulago's Conservation Fellows
have:

- A big and compelling problem to tackle.
- A high-impact solution.
- An obsession with going to scale.
- An organization up and running, even if very small (early stage is
okay).
- The ability to attract talent and resources to their organization.
- A desire to tackle the process of scalable design.
- Openness to new ideas and the willingness to change course.

Please feel free to circulate this message among your network. Again, the
best way for a leader/organization to be considered is for you to send a
message directly to Bernie (tershy@xxxxxxxx
<tershy@xxxxxxxx?subject=Mulago%20Conservation%20Fellowship
<http://tershy@xxxxxxxx/?subject=Mulago%20Conservation%20Fellowship>>) or
Kristin (
kristin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
<kristin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=Mulago%20Conservation%20Fellowship
<http://kristin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/?subject=Mulago%20Conservation%20Fellowship>
).
Please also contact them directly with any questions. For more information
about Mulago, please see our web site at: http://mulagofoundation.org
