Hello all,
I've conveyed your feedback to the MEA executive. The listserv is going to stay
for now. That may change over time, as we look forward to the future MEA
Snapchat...
I think we'll try to promote the listserve to new members, so they're aware of
it. And remember to use the listserv! Post embarrassing editing questions,
jobs, start discussions of burning work-related topics.

find the MEA listserve?
I have used the listserv several times over the years, especially to inform
members about freelance jobs. I don't use Facebook but if we scrap the
listserv, and I have information to share, I can pass it along to someone who
does use it.
Obviously the listserv requires volunteer maintenance and if it's not used
much, then we should seriously consider getting rid of it.

the MEA listserve?
Greetings all,
This is a gentle reminder that the MEA executive is discussing the future of
the listserve. Is this still a useful discussion tool? Would it be better to
close the listserve, perhaps shifting discussion to our Facebook space?
Basically, the listserve doesn't seem to be used as much as in years past,
perhaps due to changing technology and a natural turnover in membership.
Please share your thoughts now, if you haven't done so already.
Thanks,
Susan Peters

A couple of things. I will be at Monday's meeting. I want to ask some ?s around
the Whine and Dine. I'll think about listserv.
Also, I paid my membership at the Christmas party but don't have a receipt,
unless one went to my old email address.
I look forward to seeing you,

Hello all,
Changing technology and a natural turnover in members means that the MEA's
executive is considering the best way to communicate with and encourage
discussion between members.
What this means is that the MEA executive is wondering if the listserve is
still a useful discussion forum for members. The listserve doesn't seem to be
widely used by current members of the MEA. And in general, the volume of
messages is lower than in years past.
In your opinion, is the MEA listserve still a useful tool? Or is it time to
close the listserve?
As an alternative to the listserve, discussion could happen on the MEA's
Facebook page, or on a blog on the MEA website. We're also open to other
options.
Finally, I remind interested members to renew their MEA membership, as we're
currently in the middle of a membership drive.
What do you think?
