Hi all,
There are a couple of long standing issues which need cleaning up in
vo and these are the kinds of things I'd hope for since they are
right in vo and at the heart of its usability.
1> When moving line by line, if there is a return between two lines,
VO currently speaks the previous line. This does not happen if there
are two returns. For example:
I just pressed return. If you press up and down arrow, you'll hear
the line above this sentence twice as you up arrow and twice as you
down arrow. It should instead just say newline to indicate that
next line is ready to start.
I just doubled the line.
Notice how we now hear two repetitions of newline?
2> More control over punctuation verbosity. The most punctuation
setting is currently too verbose and the some setting is too quiet.
This might be changed but also it would be helpful if we could have
control over what different characters are called a pick list for the
ones which can be announced differently for instance, and also have a
not announced for eachone in its list of choices. The ones for most
which are not announced in some for instance would not be allowable
to set in some. The ability to set punctuation verbalization in this
way is important as and when VO moves toward internationalization.
Thanks!
