Hi Candie,

Is it possible to read PDF files on the iPad without first converting them
to the ePub format?

Thanks,

Russell

Subject: [macvoiceover] strange behavior while reading books on the IPad

I noticed something really strange happening when I read books on the IPad
using the IBooks app with voice over. When I read through books I download
directly from the IBooks store, I have no problem reading them. However,
when I convert PDFs into the EPub format using the site epubtogo.com, and
then transfer them over to the IPad, voice over reads the text kind of
strange. When I used the two finger downward swipe to read the text
continually, some of the words are jumbled together. Voice over will read
two words as if they are one word, making it difficult to understand the
speech. When I move my index finger down the screen line by line, the text
reads perfectly fine. It's only when I use the two finger swipe or touch the
screen so it reads the entire page that I am hearing the mispronunciation of
the words. This happens about every other sentence or so. I turned the IPad
completely off and back on again, and it still continued. I looked at the
PDF files on the computer, and the text is fine. Does anyone know how to
prevent this from happening?
Candie
