I've been experimenting with the slowness all morning. Oddly, sites opened
with Syrinx causes the item chooser to be insanely slow. Sites I load directly
typically work very nicely but, for no reason apparent to me, Yahoo! works
great but amazon.com takes forever in item chooser without Syrinx being
involved.

I've cleared history and cache with no apparent improvement.

I have noticed, though, that some things have gotten quite strange since I
installed the latest update to Adium which may have messed up Growl in Syrinx.
This, of course, wouldn't explain why amazon is so much slower than yahoo or
google but one problem at a time is probably best.
