Hi all, I asked this question before, but got no response, so I'll ask
it one more time, and that is, I had copied a web page in to text
edit, and I used save as, and included a .txt extension on the file I
was saving, and when I went to save it, it said that there were two
extensions, .odt, and .txt, and I had to choose, so I chose .odt, but
my question is, do you have to put an extension on the file you're
saving, or will the mac do that for you? If documents are saved in
text edit, with the default extension of .txt, then, for right now,
that is all I need, but just want to make sure, and nobody answered my
question the first time I asked it some months ago. Thanks in advance
for any help.

Hi, all!
I wanted to report my progress this morning inreference to my saving
files in text edit problem. I ran permissions repair, and then
opened text edit and tried to save a test file using the vo keys.
Well, it worked! No error message at all! Special thanks to the
one who suggested I do that! Now you know what to do if it should
happen on your computer. Marcy
