I'm getting ready to buy a refurbished Mac. I bought one for my son almost 3 years ago, and he has not had a minutes worth of trouble. They come with the full one year warranty, and you can get AppleCare, too. You save about 25% on a refurb from the Apple online store. The shipping is free, but you will pay tax in your state. From the item chooser on the apple.com/store get the link called refurbished macs. You can also get refurb ipods for a good discount, they also have the full warranty.

You can get apple care for itjust like the new ones. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sara" <push649@xxxxxxx> To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, April 24, 2008 9:33 AM Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: Oh no, I fell in love with a mac pro!Hi there. Didn't know Apple sold refurb macs. I'll take a look but not sure I want a used one but it's worth looking at. I guess I'm still thinking about saving and getting the pro; not the $22000 one, but the $3000 one. lolI know, I'm crazy. smile Sara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Keith Reedy" <WA9DRO@xxxxxxxxx> To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, April 24, 2008 6:58 AM Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: Oh no, I fell in love with a mac pro!Hi Sara,I saw some referb iMacs at Apple.com for around a thousand dollars with a GIG of ram, 2 GIG clock speed and a 250 GIG drive and a super drive. We have a couple of these and they are more than enough. They are 20 inchmodels. Keith Reedy On Apr 23, 2008, at 11:30 PM, Sara wrote:Thanks for that. I did the same thing one day and now I don't feel so weird knowing others do the same...building expensive computers and never really buying them. I also put in 4tb hard drives lol. I love the idea of 32 gigs of ram but yeah, I bet the mac could use that. I mean,if I suddenly could see, lol, I'd be editing videos. lol Sara ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Truong" <bnfiles@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 23, 2008 10:13 PM Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: Oh no, I fell in love with a mac pro!HI,So did I at this online Aussie apple store. I built what I wanted tohave in my Mac pro and it came to 22 thousand bucks. But then I really pushedthe envelope smile. I tell you what, it was fun building and dreamingof itthough. Just that processing power along with 32 GB of ram. Could theMacreally handle 32GB of ram? I mean can it take advantage of it? I put 23.2quad processors in there along with 4 1tb drives and 32GB ram as wellasother stuff. If I get a Mac pro, no doubt I'll be a bit more realisticthan I was today. I couldn't justify to myself spending 22 grand on a computer smile. Went to the store and loved the pro. lolI touched it and was like "wow, a big mac"! We got a good laugh aboutthemcdonalds hamburger but of course the mac pro is anything but fastfood computing. lol At $3000 it sure looks good. I love that aluminium case! It purrs too, kind of like a leopard I guess? lolI got a very '80s feeling from looking at it. I know it's 2008, but Ican't stop thinking about our apple2e...128k of ram, yeah...Hardware that is built to last decades instead of 90 days, that's thefeeling I got from that mac.The salesman told me that my pc microphone won't work on a mac. Allverytechie-techie sounding about signals and power, not sure if he waswrong or not...but I hope he was wrong because I'm not spending even more dollars on a mic. lol Does the pro have a mic built-in?Garage band was cool. I didn't buy the thing though, decided to domoreresearch first and not buy it just because it gives me that nice '80s feeling. It reminds me of my childhood and how back then, I wanted newtoysat any price. Now I'm 27 and it's 2008 and I'll do more research first before I buy that quote "big mac" end quote.
