Smile, hey to you too. I'm looking forward to the switch if the government would hurry up before school starts, lol.

Hey May! I'm glad to hear you're making the switch. I bought an iMac in early August and absolutely love it! There are some things I am not able to do on the Mac yet, though, like embossing on my Braille Blazer, working with databases, although someone said there is a database app, Bento, I think, that is supposed to be accessible... will try it later.

May, I don't think you will regret switching, just keep a Windows machine around until you're able to do all you need on the Mac.

Hi everyone, my name is May and I am waiting for my first Macbook. I have been a windows user forever so looking forward to the new learning experience.

I have an IPhone my first apple product and absolutely love it. It took me only 24 hours to figure out all I needed to know to use it to my satisfaction.

Now ready for the bigger challenge of learning the computer, smile.

Keith's word is definitely good. I never thought I would switch from JAWS. I got a Mac for a single contract and now Macs and other Apple products are in so many places around my house that we look like an auxiliary Apple store (without the goofy t-shirts).

If you choose the switch, jump in with both feet, ask questions and enjoy the goodies.

Hi Jim and welcome,

I think what folks are trying to say is, its different. I came from Windows, using JFW and Window-Eyes and DOS before that.

The learning curve is not steep, the Mac is fast and I can do more with a MAC than I could have imagined.

I work in an office, I play around on the web, I am a musition, I record and I do it all with the MAC and Voiceover.

I think that folks want you to know that it is different and yes it is worth it to learn it.

Play around with a MAC, don't just take my word for it, but, my word is good.

Marie, I'm not opposed to forgetting the windows platform. My question is, is it worth forgetting? Jim

I do second this notion Chantelle, forgetting the windows platform is essential when learning the mac. I bet those of us who forgot it learned the mac a lot easier than those who could not let go of windows for one reason or another. it is definitely easier to forget it, but for some easier said than done. :)

Hi, Jim,
I am going to tell you right now that you need to forget all that you know about windows when it comes to using your mac. Mac is very different from windows in the way that the screen reads things, and the way you navigate the screen is different. With the mac, you must interact with tables and other things by hitting control option shift down arrow.
Stop interacting by hitting control option shift up arrow.
