I get that the subject line was incorrect. I get that the commands have ben recently discovered by some. do you get it now?

David, you seem to be missing the point entirely. Those new to the operating system, if they didn't discover these commands before installing Snow Leopard, would classify them as "new" for good reason. Plenty of people have said it to you already, and you're still not getting it. Jesus. Whether the subject is "New commands" or "Commands I Just Discovered" is entirely irrelevant, as the poster didn't know about them and thought they were sharing some useful information. And to those not too used to the operating system, I'm sure they appreciated it.

I have never, personally, had a need for faster ways to shut down my Macintosh. Which is why I stumbled onto these commands after installing Snow Leopard by complete accident. If I need to make it sleep, I'll just close my Macbook.

Good day, and enjoy the read!

Nic

Hi all, you may or may not know these commands, but in case you don't, you can use vo command eject to shut down your computer, and command option eject to put your mac to sleep, just thought I'd make you aware of these commands in case you weren't aware of them.
