[macvoiceover] Re: more games on softcon now

Most of the games posted on softcon are accessible (don't forget about the yahtzee game on softcon.com/mac as well) Where possible, I have commented on the lack of vo usability when posting the games. I'm not specifically hunting for vo accessible games, but since I use vo myself, if I can't play the game (either alone or with sighted assistance) it isn't likely to make it onto the site. Ocassionally though a game does make it there which isn't accessible, just because of it's being ported to osx by myself. However, as mentioned, I do try to note when things don't work well (or at all) with vo. Also, keep in mind, most of these games are run in terminal, and don't have a macox gui. (softcon yahtzee being the exception of course)
Hope this helps.

travis, I am gathering these are accessible to voiceover? Also, do you know of any one place where one can get a listing of accesible games for the mac or, perhaps would you know of any sights that have accessible games that work with voiceover? I need to compile a resource CD and it would be great to have some games there. Also, is there any particular site devoted to accessibil software? Thanks.

I've updated the games posted on the softcon mac games pages. The page is posted at

There's a rather interesting game called hotel, and a version of omega, and other things. All of these programs came from the usenet archives, so they're all free for distribution, have fun, and as always, do let me know if anything is broken.
