From what I've seen, this is usable. I did not use earlier versions, so I can't say how different it is from the past. However, I had no problems setting up my ID info. The contact list is a little funky to deal with, and the preferences, in true Microsoft form, are a bit odd. However, it is certainly usable with VoiceOver, though I'd stick with Adium, personally. I just can't figure out where in the world it installs the sounds and picture options.

Personally, I'll stick with Adium anyway regardless, as I hate having multiple messaging clients open. But the more accessible apps we have the better.

Hi
I just tried it and honestly, it doesn't seem much better than 7 was. Maybe I'm missing something but if I type a message I cannot see what I'm typing, as it's in a web content area. If I go to read the incoming messages I can do that, however. What's interesting is that if I turn VO off then on again it reads much better... until I start typing again, then it goes back to what I described. The only way I can see what I'm typing is to interact with the typing HTML area, but even then VO's cursor and the editing cursor don't follow one another, making editing almost impossible. There are a lot of unlabeled buttons in the conversation window's drawer without any help tags as well. This is what I've found so far, anyone else confirm or deny this? And if it's working fine for others, what am I missing? My version of messenger, straight from the about dialog, is Version 7.0.1 (080527).

Well, has any one tried this yet and does it work? I hope to try it later today.
