[macvoiceover] Re: how does the smtp server know?

Hi Dennis, I didn't have to tell the mail program anything, in fact,
under preferences, I get 3 tabs in accounts, and they are account
information, mailbox behaviours, and advanced, but I don't see a server
tab, and I know with pm mail, you have to tell it the correct port,
which for comcast is, outgoing, port 587, and incoming is port 110, and
I did see that port 110 in the advanced tab, but no tab for the smtp
port, unless it stays where you put it in preferences. I used command
comma to get in there, and I've only been on this thing since Friday.

Hi marty,
When you set up your accounts you need to tell the mail program which
port to use. All of the ISP's have recently switched to port 587 but

the default port of 25 can still be used. Port 587 is used to
hopefully prevent spam, which all of the spammers have found.
