Hi, Marcy. Are you using Ilife 08--GB 4? If so, GB shouldn't be behaving this way. And if it is, how maxed out is your system? Have you tried restarting your Mac and opening GB first to see how it responds when it's the only ap running? Also, you could see if the visual E Q is checked... If so, you could try unchecking it. Might also try repairing permissions. I've had my macbook for about 2 and a half months, and have explored Garage Band but have not done it like this, so I tried it. The problem I'm having is that when I get to the list of instruments within a category such as pianos and keyboards, and then arrow, and for me it's to the right, I keep getting the busy, I guess while it indexes, but it goes on for quite awhile, even when it says Garage Band ready. Has anyone experienced this? Ginny, have you? Thanks! Then you will be in the instrument category list and it should say "pianos and keyboards." Then, using the up and down arrows will move you through the list of various instrument categories. Once you find the category you want, arrow once with the left arrow to land on the various instruments within that category. Arrow up and down to highlight or sample each of those instruments. Does this make sense? -----Original Message----- From: macvoiceover-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:macvoiceover-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Poehlman Sent: Friday, March 13, 2009 8:01 AM To: macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [macvoiceover] garage band 4 on a new macbook with vo: A little background: in garage band 3.0, to access the instruments, once you show track info and click the checkbox next to the word details, there are two popups showing software instramentation. the first one defaults to grand piano, the second defaults to manual. These popups will serve to select the main instramentation group and to select the specific instrament in that group respectively. For example, if I choose woodwind from the first popup, my selections in the second popup are narrowed to only woodwind instraments available in garage band and there by the way is no all instraments unfortunately. Now, in gb 4.0, on the new macbook circa december 08, we cannot find a way to move off of piano. Keith, or anyone else, can you shed any light on this?
