Hi,

If you use voiceover in Dom mode, I have found that if you find a part of the 
page that is not a control or a link, rout your mouse cursor to your /vO 
cursor, then perform a mouse click with VO shift spacebar, you will then be 
able to select text on a web page by using shift with the arrows.
