Hi Daniel,

We get updates to Voiceover with nearly every software update, for instants,
SnowLeopard, 10.6.1, 10.6.2 and so on. Not only this, but, Apple bundles
Voiceover updates in to iWork and iLife updates as well as other updates, so,
Voiceover is updated in some way most of the time every few weeks, free of
charge.
