[macvoiceover] Re: converting pdf to text a mac solution?

Hi, Greg.
I don't know that this will work with the .acsm files because you're
actually not in the document itself when you open one of these. Also, they
will let you print, but you can't save the primary body of text within the
.acsm in any format the way you can a pdf.
Please tell me I'm wrong. <grin>

Accually there are ways to do this.

1. Obtain a copy of Acrobat Professional it has an OCR option in it.
So you tell it to OCR the document and then export the document as a text
file. Acrobat Professional is not the most VoiceOver friendly application
there ever was but these functions are reached by the menus so it should
work OK.

2. Print out the document and then use a scanner and ORC program to generate
a text file from the scans. Alternately some ORC programs can read PDF files
directly.

Hope this helps.
