This is something you will have to change in iTunes. To do this find the audiobook in iTunes and press command I. This opens the Get Info dialog. Now you will have 7 tabs. Select the option tab. Go to the pop up box labeled "Media Kind:" and select audiobook. Now go down to "remember playback position" and check it if it is not already checked. Now press enter and sync your iPod touch . Now there are a couple ways you can fast forward and rewind on the Touch. If you are using the headphones that comes with it you can use the controller that is located on the wire. Press the center button twice quickly holding the button down on the 2nd press to fast forward. Pressing the center button 3 times holding the button down on the 3rd press will rewind. If you just press the center button twice it will bring you to the next chapter or song depending on what your listening to. Pressing the center button 3 times will bring you to the previous song or chapter. If you choose to use the screen, double tap next and hold your finger down on the screen after the 2nd tap to fast forward. Do the same process on the previous button to rewind. hth .
