[macvoiceover] Re: about the new safari 4, good news

Hi,

I didn't try it yet, but this afternoon at work we looked at the new features. Guess what, we've ARIA support!

Well, what does this mean... First of all, as users we'll be able to use all ARIA enabled apps, which is becoming a nice way to make dynamic webapps accessible. One of the real life apps that has ARIA is as far as I know the Google reader, login with a google account and click the aria enabled link.

From a technical point of view it's interesting as well. Because it seems that Safari implemented ARIA without shipping a new version of VO. It could be that the current VO already had the features needed for this, or Apple's accessibility API is good enough to provide this without modifications to the screenreader. In comparison, Firefox 3 has ARIA support built-in, but screenreader vendors are just starting to implement it.

I'll give it a try.
