It's decent, Sarah, but it's kind a somewhat limited. The thing about it I didn't like was last I looked, now granted, this was back in my Tiger machine, so I bet it's changed quite a lot since then, but, I couldn't seem to figure out how the heck to get the stupid thing to let me set disk permissions on a shared ftp folder, which meant even anonymous users were getting full access to all the folders that I shared. Now that! Sucked!

There is also a very good, free, accessible OSX FTP server client called "Cyber Duck."Just one more alternative. Along the same lines, I am looking for an FTP *hosting* accessible package, similar to Serv-U or File Zilla Server. I have searched the Mac App store and done various Google searches. I found one called "FTP D Manager," I think it was, but I just got, ... "program has no windows." So, not much left to do with that. Oh, no menubar, either.James A. However, having said this, it sounds to me more like one of two things being that I myself a a certified network server admin sys op, I think I may have some insight as to the issue. Could it be, that one of two things're happenning?1. You're trying to upload to the wrong directory on the server.2. The user who granted you access to the server may have forgotten to give you write access, meaning you only have read, if even that permissions.Just two ideas of thought.Let us know. It's possible something elses going on, but I'd start with that basis, and build from there.Chris.----- Original Message ----- From: "Ricardo Walker" <rwalker296@xxxxxxxxx>To: "Macvisionaries" <macvisionaries@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: "Macvoiceover list" <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, April 10, 2011 1:09 PM Subject: [macvoiceover] Writing to an FTP server via the finder Hi folks,I have a large file I want to share with someone so they gave me the login information for their ftp server. I opened up safari, type in the ftp address, and entered the username and password. The server was then mounted like a drive in the finder. The problem is, I can't write to the server. Am I doing something wrong? If so, can someone tell me the steps I've missed? If I'm forced to use an FTP client, is there any accessible ones out there?TIA.
