I'm not the person who said that, but I imagine old application files and
such that aren't compatible or maybe just expired free trials and things. A
clean install is just so nice anyway. You avoid all the headaches with
programs that try to start when the Mac does.
If you've had your Mac for a year, it's probably time to clean install it.
If it's still purring like a kitten and there's just documents on it and a
few up-to-date programs, I wouldn't worry about just upgrading, but for
people like me who mess around with new software they just downloaded, I'd
probably say clean install it.
Either way, don't forget that backup!
