I have a microsoft (yes, I did say microsoft:) keyboard and mouse plugged in, as well as the adapter and it works fine.

not sure what your first question is but if it is will your dusty mice
work on your mini, probably so.  as to your second question, it has
been reported that plugging an monitor or special null monitor adaptor
should fix this issue.
