Your recording can be found in the recording bin. Remember to
interact with the table that has "ahpcomponent and a bunch of numbers
of letters. Each time you move over one of thos you'll be in a new
window and one of them is the recording bin.
The recording name isn't a blank field; it already has variables and
percents in it because by default the file is named by the date and
time of the recording and the application used. You can just leave it
that way or change it.
Your actual recordings are probably in your home directory under
Music/audio Hijack. Remember that you can't really record until you
buy because after the first ten minutes noise will be in your audio.
but you can do short recordings to see if you can get the hang of it.
