Yes, did just try it again, but nothing happens.
So now I'm just trying some options that I find in the menu's. I just found
the menu option Add To Library within the File menu of iTunes. In the dialog
I could select my external hard disk, and now he is very busy (again, but
now with a good reason I guess).
But I'm not sure, but I guess he is moving all the titles to the local hard
disk.
I don't care if he is making garbage of my system. I have a backup of my
music folder and formatting and installing the OS again is gladly something
we can do without sighted help. It may also fix a problem I have with my
wireless connection.

Raymond, Did you press Okay after telling ITunes that your external drive
is to be the library location? IF not, that's what you need to do.
