Hi guys;It even does this when Text Edit is not running. I know that the option key script for the keyboard commander is bad as it makes Voiceover stop about 3 out of 4 times used. I've already reported the problem to Accessibility but I'm thinking a defective script might cause something like this.

Hi Darrell,I agree that turning off things that mite be helpful mite be counter productive, but, any time Textedit is active, I think you will get this message.Maybe not keeping the file in the doc would do the trick, or, turn all of your messages off.Sorry, I don't know of any other work around. To turn it off, do this.In textedit menus, find preferences, choose the open save tab, VO keys- right arrow to, autosave button, use the down arrow to make it active andchoose never. HTH. I didn't know how to do that but I don't know if it will help as it is now happening without Text Edit running. when the file was up it would state the name of it, but now it says "selection replaced zero items selected."Sometimes it says it every minute or two and sometimes it's 15 or so. It almost sounds like it might be a find and replace dialog but there is no menu for that function that I can find. Press VO-right arrow to move to the item you want to remove. 3. Press vo-shift-m for the shortcut menu.4. Press VO-down arrow until you locate the option to remove the itemfrom the dock. 5. Press VO-space bar to select that option. Hope this helps. -----Original Message----- From: macvoiceover-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:macvoiceover-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of carlene knight Sent: Friday, October 02, 2009 9:19 PM To: macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [macvoiceover] Text Edit popping up Hi: I have a Text Edit document that keeps flashing up every 20 minutesand sometimes more frequently. It used to say "item replace 0 itemsselected." Now it states the name of the document. It's called Contacts.rTF. Whenthat file flashes my cursor loses focus. It will say the name of thefile whether I am using the computer or not. It doesn't matter whether the file is open or not. It is in the doc though,. Could that be the problem? I'm a new Mac user so I don't know how to remove it from the doc, but my husband can. I'm running SL on a Mac Mini. This thing is driving me crazy so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. now it does it even with no document open.Click on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.com Manage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below. //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover Users can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.com Manage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below. //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover Users can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.com Manage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below. //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover Users can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Webinterface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below.//www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover Users can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below.//www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover Users can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below.//www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover Users can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxwith 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Webinterface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover
